When I first woke in the cell, I thought he was my captor, but he is a pawn, like me. I made a final desperate call to the man who ruined my life, but he didn’t come for me.Īnd then there was Seven. I wanted to see it shatter in my hand and crumble at my feet. Today I found something beautiful and decided to break it. Maybe I’m remembering it wrong because for me that day all there was, was darkness. They’re both kind of the same thing with the long tunnel and the bright light at the end. The first day of my captivity was like being born… or dying. Not sure I would want to eat it either.A bundle of Kitty Thomas’s 3 darkest titles (contemporary dark standalones): Comfort Food (published originally in 2010, the OG dark romance novel), The Game Maker, and Big Sky: The direction the book goes in for the last few chapters was more interesting to me than the supposed darkness during her confinement to her "cells".and the final chapter was chilling and the scariest reveal of all.I would still recommend this to those with a particular taste for BDSM and kidnap type was definitely a mind-blower.also I will never look at chicken noodle soup the same ever again. A famous person who goes missing and then endures months of training only to have the plans change.and what follows after is confusing and devastating to her. it was similar in plot to many other kidnap and forced into submission books that I have read.but I'm still trying to understand what I read. I won't say I loved it and I can't even say it was really that dark for me. Review 2: I've been hearing a lot of talk about this book from some of my dark romance/erotica reader friends and since it went on sale this was time to satisfy my curiosty.

It was kind of off putting a little, but I did get used to it after the first few times. This book allows us to consider that even an educated person can be put in a life altering situation and begin to think differently.I found the book well written, and I can't wait to read the author's other novels! One of the things I did not like about this book, is during certain encounters how it changes to the third person. Review 1: Although it was quite disturbing, I found myself hooked on this book from the very beginning.
